Clark Family Adventure

Hello everyone! Before I forget to mention it, our e-mail is johnkatieclark@gmail.com and it would be great to hear from you. Don't be shy! The past seven days have been a whirlwind of activity, last minute details and good-byes. After 15 years (and one day), November 4th was the last morning at the pratice followed by an Open House where many patients and my amazing employees Gail and Lisa came to say goodbye. That is something I will rememer my whole life. We also received an unexpected plaque from the Mayor of Clarington, Adrian Foster. Thank you so much everyone!

Since then we headed off to the nation's capital for three days to visit Katie's brother Darcy and his family. Today, we attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the cenotaph across from the Chateau Laurier. I can't think of a better place to honour our veterans.

Now we are in Kingston visiting friends Tom and Christine and their boys Basil and Lewis.

Three days to go now before we get on the plane for Bangkok! We'll keep you posted and we will figure out how to post some interesting pictures. (This blogging is a bit of a learning curve.)

Can hardly believe it's almost time to leave on our long-awaited trip of a lifetime! After selling our boat, trailer, and house on Kijiji, we are now packing up our remaining possessions in preparation for our departure on November 14th. With so much to do before we leave, finding time to plan out our itinerary is challenging. Our goal is to have a directional itinerary planned before we leave, allowing us to avoid backtracking without being pinned down to a schedule. What a change this will be from the way we have been living! More to come on planning as it progresses. The kids are getting excited after choosing their backpacks and filling them with the four days worth of clothing we will each bring. Stay tuned as we prepare for departure.
